Hello and welcome to The Yardies web site! We are a six piece band from the San Francisco Bay Area. Our sound stretches across the roots of America, from Detroit Soul to Texas R&B to West Coast Pop, all fused together by our underlying love and respect for Jamaican Reggae. The resulting sound is smooth, sophisticated and thoroughly dance driven.

Greetings! The Yardies want to say THANK YOU!!! for all of the support we've received from everyone over the years. Your support has been 'instrumental' in our success and we are very grateful. I would like to recap the recent history of the Yardies. We played our last show on 12/17/2005. That gig was a private party in Santa Cruz. It rained torrentially all night. Our trip back over the hill was a white knuckle ride. Following the 'break up' of the band, the four remaining members were Al Rafalski, Michael Marquez, Louis Hicks, and Dave Vaught. The four of us got together to do some recording in the log cabin studio space high up on Skyline Ridge known as the 'TamboTown Sessions'. Check the photos page for some pics of the recording sessions. In May of 2009 the entire band got together to discuss a possible reunion. We wanted the reunion to include all of the original members; Ed Elizalde, Alan Rafalski, Michael Marquez, Michael Lucas,Tim Siefert, Louis Hicks and David Vaught. Plans were made for rehearsals and meetings. The Crow's Nest in Santa Cruz offered us a date to do a gig on the beach, and Matt at Main Street Brewery offered us some gigs, where we've played many many shows. We also had a few more clubs interested. Unfortunately we couldn't pull the effort together with short notice. I apologize for being so cryptic over the last 4 years as there was little news to report. I was trying to keep the interest level up, hoping that the band would get back together. We may have another opportunity to get the Yardies together for a reunion in 2010. Stay tuned! - Tambo. Check out the music page for 3 free song downloads from our new unreleased project. We will be posting a new song, 'Brace Up Me Back', on the music page in the next few weeks. Louis Hicks handles the vocals on this track in his inimitable style. Check the photo page for pics of Lou singing in the isolation booth. Sign up for the mailing list to keep updated. ;-) Tambo's Quote of the Day: " In this bright future you can't forget your past."
